Since Suri Cruise became a burden on
Katy Holmes' arms it has become the fashion, it appears, not to take
your little one out in a pushchair as used to be the trend, but to
carry them around everywhere.
Victoria, never one to be behind the
times in the fashion stakes, has adopted this must-have way of
carting her own little daughter Harper around. But unlike the other
mums, whose arms have simply had to put up with the strain of a
growing toddler, Victoria the fashion designer has come up with a way
around this.
As any good trend-aware parent knows,
it is absolutely essential that all and sundry get a good glimpse of
your tot as you parade down the street with them. After all you
didn't spend hundreds of dollars on the latest Dolce and Gabanna baby
girl's dress for it to get all crinkled and hidden in a pram. So this
new bag provides somewhere for the little one to sit comfortably at
your hip whilst still displaying her finery and that all important
cute chubby face.
The Harper shoulder bag will, I
imagine, be available in all good upmarket departments stores –
like Harrods – at some point in the distant future when all the
weary armed mums who have put their names down on the waiting list
for this must-have bag have been satisfied. That should take just a
few years.
Oh hang on, news just in, this isn't
actually a bag designed to carry Harper around in, it's just a bag
named after Harper Beckham. My mistake.
But if anyone does design a
toddler-carrying shoulder bag I want my cut of the royalties, as you
heard it here first.
